L'Ampolla is close to the Ebro Delta, which is home to almost 300 species of bird. September and October are the best months for bird watching as the egrets and herons come to the rice fields at this time. The area is also good for fishing and you can hire equipment locally. Paddling boats and wind surfers are also available for hire and it is a great place to fly kites!

There are no night clubs or discotheques in the village itself. The nearest are in Tortosa which is about 12 kilometres inland.

There is a railway station at L'Ampolla. The trains are not very frequent but the service is reliable. There are trains to Barcelona and Tarragona - both worth a visit.

Nearby Ulldecona has stone age cave paintings and Morello, high in the mountains, produces lovely hand knitted goods.

For all the fun of the fair, you can visit Port Aventura is 30 minutes drive away towards Tarragona. They have big dippers, giant roundabouts, theme restaurants, Flamenco dancing and much more.

L'Ampolla is a charming holiday town with a wide range of bars, restaurants and shops. There is also a large marina within view of the apartment and a small fishing fleet. Sleeps up to four persons.

There are two sandy beaches nearby. One is 5 minutes walk and the other is just 15 minutes walk from the apartment. There are two sandy beaches just across the road from the apartment and also a pebble beach only 2 minutes walk away.

Nearby Places of Interest and Travel

There are 2 airports close to L'Ampolla, the first being Barcelona approximately 1¾ hours drive and the other Reus being only 45 minutes away.

The main roads, motorway and train connections are easily accessible, making travel easy. The Railway Station is just 7 minutes away and the motorway connection is also only 7 minutes away.

There are two Championship Golf courses approximately 45 minutes away from the apartment by road.

The beautiful Ebro-delta wildlife park is 15 minutes away from L'Ampolla and is well known for the variety of wildlife found there, attracting bird watchers and nature lovers throughout the year. The area is excellent for walking, cycling and fishing.
